Input the unique username you intend to use. This can contain upper and lower case letters, numbers with dashes or underscores. (But not spaces, commas, dots, slashes, percents or stars) |

It is a condition of membership that we can identify every member by their name and address - this information is never revealed to anyone else, albeit your postcode is used to determine which constituency you are entitled to vote in. Only residents of the United Kingdom can become Electors - non-residents are welcome to join as Non-Electors. |

Personal Information

The only piece of information we MUST have is your date of birth, in order to determine whether you can be an Elector (i.e. over 18) or not. If you are under 18 then you can still be a member but are registered as a non-Elector. In this role you can still participate in discussions, join Lobby Groups (even run one), become a Newspaper Editor or be a Pollster.
The other fields are optional, but without it the site is unable to invite you to take part in representative polls (i.e. those where a cross-section of the population by gender, race etc. is selected). Also, being able to analyse this information across all members would enable us to show the outside world that our membership reflects a valid cross-section of the country's population |

In devising the concept of this site, we did not feel it appropriate to fund it through advertisments, although we welcome real-world periodicals to associate themselves with our site. Also, with the nature of the site, we need to verify the identity of all our members. Therefore, we ask for a small subscription paid by credit card - just £10 for a year's membership, deferred for a month (i.e a month's free membership) |
